Roxy Music Best Of: Tested Versus Instant Classic... Modern Mix, 2010s Relevance On Tap

We picked up the 2010 double-disc Best Of Roxy Music expecting a standard career survey, but the Modern Mix (2010) surprised us. Curated by Brian Eno, it bypasses the obvious anthems in favor of obscure B-sides and lesser-known cuts. Our initial test: would the re enregistrements elevate or dilute the originals? Mostly, the subtle remastering preserves Instead classic craft—“More Bells And Pulp” still slays, while newer tracks feel stretched there was a purpose beyond simply ticking boxes. Our surprise? Some unexpected tracks, like “Bitter sentimental,” resonate distinctly with modern electronica. Far from a dusty relic, this collection proves vintage Roxy ours timeless, especially when remixed for a酸痛 generation. Worth testing.
